When you get your first chance to smoke, you may feel a bit confused on where you should begin. Here are a few tips that’ll help to make this easier for you, and how you can smoke this in a way for your own personal wellness, and so you’re not coughing like crazy.
“Before you Smoke
Always check your mood before you begin with this. When you feel good, you’ll have a good experience. If you’re feeling nervous, sad, or scared, it might be better to wait, since THC can make these feelings a bit worse. With that stated though, using THC and CBD together chant help. Lower levels of THC may be the better option. You should also look at the terpenes. Those that are high in the terpene myrcene for instance, might help with relieving pain, but also might make you a bit sleepy too.
Smoking joints
Joints are cannabis cigarettes basically. They’re rolled the same way that cigarettes are, but they won’t have nicotine in them. you can get pre-rolls or have them in the comfort of your own home. The way to smoke joints are as follows:
- First, break up your flower using your hands, or a grinder
- Take a little bit of this and put it inside. Take a paper and then roll this up tightly.
- Have the paper held, and then keep the cannabis even. Roll it up, and then twist it together to make this sealed
Then, you can smoke it. Do it the same way you do cigarettes where you inhale, hold it for a couple of seconds, and then exhale. However, unlike cigarettes, take a second before you smoke more, so that the weed doesn’t become too excessive.

Blunts work the same way that joints do, but it’s basically cigar papers. Basically, you want to roll this the same way. This one does contain nicotine though. You should not use it this way, as it’s not the best and safest means.
Smoking a Pipe
Then there is smoking a pipe. These are super easy to use, because you simply pack this in, light it up, and then smoke.
To do this, do the following:
- Grind up the cannabis, and then, put it in a pipe bowl
- Take a lighter, or hemp wicks to light this up
- Inhale this slowly by putting your lips against the mouthpiece
- Wait a minute, exhale, and then pause before you inhale once more.
Smoking a Bong
A Bong is a little bit harder. There are those that come with bowls that remove, and then, go to, the smoke chamber. They’re bigger than a normal pipe, but for beginners, you should get the bubblers, a type of water pipe.
To use this, do the following:
- Add clean water to the bong
- Take some of the ground weed to pack the bowl
- Put the lips against the mouthpiece and hold this. Tilt the flame and have it in the bowl.
- Inhale while you light. Once you’ve got enough smoke, you can ignite it
- Take the bowl out of the stem, and then breathe this in. hold it for a few seconds before you exhale.
- Replace the bowl of cannabis into the stem, and then continue until you’re done. Make sure that you clean this up after a single smoke session.

The best way to do this is to follow the rules. Obviously, don’t share joints when you’re sick, and don’t partake with those that don’t make you comfortable as well.
