Can you Mix MDMA and Weed?

If you’re someone who uses MDMA, you might wonder if you can combine this with weed. The answer is that it’s not advisable.  There is some evidence, but the thing is, this is still something that’s newish, so you don’t know the interactions that happen outside of the regular clinical settings, and also, the dosage does vary too. Here’s what we know about MDMA, and also some of the therapeutic uses and also what you should be mindful of when combining these together.

All about MDMA

This is also known as Molly, or ecstasy, and it’s basically a drug that works as a hallucinogen, and a stimulant.  Basically, it’s also known as a type of amphetamine, and it is a stimulant of specifically your CAN.  Ecstasy comes in capsule forms, and basically, you swallow it, and within 45 or so minutes, the effects start to come out. The thing with MDMA though, is that it does wear off quite quickly, and the high leaves within a couple of hours.

Some people take MDMA in very high amounts, and this has been found to cause fatalities for people, through dehydration, overheating, and sometimes combining too much water. It also usually comes with the combination of alcohol and MDMA. This is considered a Schedule I drug, so it’s something that is still illegal.

How this works is simple. it’s basically a natural stimulant, similar to how cups of coffee give you a strong energy jolt.  Then of course, there is the hallucinogenic part of this, where you feel euphoric to the point of hallucinating, or feeling disoriented. It also alters the dopamine, norepinephrine, and also serotonin, which affect the way that they feel. It can cause imbalances, which might lead to depression.

It’s considered a drug used recreationally, but some studies have found that it does help those with PTSD and could be a valid form of treatment for those who suffer from this.

Benefits and Drawbacks of Mixing

Some people like the sensations that come with this, and some people may benefit from this, but others not so much.

Here’s the benefits and drawbacks of mixing this.

For the benefits, some people like the psychoactive nature of both of these drugs. This is also good for the “cooldown” period that marijuana can help to taper off. A lot of times both of these drugs are used within social settings, and people will take them because they can. However, the benefits are very anecdotal.

Another thing though, is that there are risks with this. Some feel deficits in their cognitive abilities if you use both of these in the long term, but right now, it does require more research.

A big thing is that when the deficits happen, some people may start to feel like their memory is already impaired with this, and a lot of times, people tend to not remember when you take these.

It also causes the psychedelic feelings that come with both of these to become like tent times more potent with both of these. Those who are using both of these together don’t realize just how much they’re taking.

They tend to have a lack of awareness of the situation, and it leads to potential overdosages of both of these, especially ecstasy. This can cause you to have too much, and it can cause fatal conditions in people.

They do work well separately, and there is potential for benefits therapeutically, but you shouldn’t mix these together, and always be cautious of the way that either of these make you feel.
